We did this hike on August 1. We arrived at the parking lot (road wasn't too bad getting there in an SUV) at sunrise and started hiking at 6:30am. We didn't see anybody else on the way up to the firs…Full review by Jeremiah Z

This was incredible, absolutely unbelievable and surreal. We started at the trailhead at 6am and got up to the first lake in about 2 hours with close to maybe 20 breaks averaging maybe a minute each.…Full review by Megan H

My husband and I are traveling to this area with our 1 year old next month (mid September), and we’re wondering if the Blue Lake Trail hike was doable with a toddler strapped to your back. Has anyone out there done something similar or seen other families do it?

I can't remember if someone had their toddler strapped but I had a 7kg backpack which did get heavy but eventually you don't care anymore and just wanna get down haha I'm in shape but I'm not a hiker and I also tend to hike too fast haha I'd suggest to think about the time you'll spend hiking and if you think you can handle this. I hiked all the way to the third lake, up and down with probably a 30min break total and I think it took me around 6h without the break.
I know the road to the falls. What vehicle did you take up that road to the Blue Lakes Trail head start - above the falls. I always hiked all the way from the bottom, never drove the road to the trail head but want to this time to save time. I have a Subaru forester think I can drive it up there? Thanks Jutta Scarry

I went to Lower Blue Lake and took a Minivan ... I gather during the summer months a Subaru would be fine ... however higher clearance is always a safe bet
