Self guided tour. Buildings locked, need someone to open the barracks to walk through. Place where Sitting Bull surrendered his rifle.Full review by K I

Self tour- use your imagination and read the info signs on the grounds. A few recreated buildings and a thousand grasshoppers. The guided tour would be better.Full review by msjulie22

Sorry I took so long to reply. In Williston a MUST SEE place is Fort Union - we were there for the Festival in June - a great piece of American history. Also, we visited Fort Buford which is very close to Fort Union. The only original building at Fort Buford that is still standing was the Powder Magazine - but it's a great place to see and we stopped at the Fort Buford Cemetery - VERY VERY INTERESTING head stones there. There were headstones that told how the person died. For example, one said "Killed by Indians", another "Murdered", "Blight", "Shot By Accident" and a lot of others. Only downside there was is place was infested with mosquitos - but fortunately we had bug spray in the car so that was not an issue.
