This is the best Roman ruin site that I have ever visited. Built at the height of the empire as a country villa, it was buried for centuries after some disasters. The excavation is fairly recent, s…Full review by Thomas V

This is an amazing Roman site full of mosaics. It is in the countryside south of Enna near Piazza Armerina, a bit off the beaten track but when you get there it's well organised and with lots of park…Full review by Beth J

A must-see for anyone visiting Sicily. You can learn about the life of the nobility there. The mosaics and the stories behind them are simply fascinating. It was hard for us to leave the place.Full review by Shuki Z
Can you bring in a backpack or do they need to be checked at entrance?

Będę w Piazza Armerina 21 marca o 12,30 busem z Caltagirone. Czym mogę pojechać do Villa Casale i wrócić na bus o 16,45. Czy jest to możliwe? Jeżeli taxi to ile może kosztować?

Sorry, but I don't understand the question. If it is about how to get there, you 'll probably have to take a taxi. We stayed in a B& B and the host brought us there.
I need to decide where to stay overnight if I want to go to Villa Romana del Casale. I am in Ragusa and will head to Agrigento next. I don't know if I can do it in one day starting in Ragusa and end the day in Agrigento or do I need to stop by another town in between overnight?

I would stay overnight in piazza armerina and the proceed to agrigento the next day. It could probably be done in the day, but you would not get to really see the Villa Romano which has far more to offer really than agrigento( not just me saying this- everyone we met said the Villa is the real gem. When you are off the main thoroughfares in Sicily, it’s easy to get lost. Our GPS has panic attacks and often quit mid turn
Hi,I will be going to Sicily this coming May and I am wondering if there are any public transportation available to get from Piazza Armerina to Villa Romana del Casale. Thank you.

Hello, Etna transporti bus company has a direct bus leaving Catania bus station at 10:30 AM, dropping you at the entrance door at 12:30. A return bus is picking you at the same place at 16:30 and dropping you back at Catania bus station at 16:15. Cost of both tickets is about 14 euros per person but buy tickets in advance at the ticket counter close by the bus station, to verify time table and to avoid stress running around looking for it. You have enough time at the Villa Romana to eat lunch, visit and relax before taking return bus. Very practical and best bus servive . Best secret in town ! Enjoy
