Wow Penzance, I have been there and want to go back one day, never met anyone from there! I don't imagine it will be that hot in April in general so you should be fine to go, doubt there will be crowds, be very careful when you go and if you see the water steaming test it carefully before touching, one could scald themselves badly in spots if not die. Definitely bring water shoes as well as those rocks are extremely slippery.
