There are a few fire pits, but you'll need to arrive early in order to grab one. Remember, alcohol and any glass is strictly forbidden on any of the beaches in San Diego.

No need to arrive early. The grunion tend to run late. Enjoy a nice dinner and park in the parking lot at La Jolla Shores. It's a nice walk up the coast to the pier. Bring jackets, as it can get windy and cool. Remember that if you disturb the first few grunion to hit the beach then the whole group will abandon the beach and look for a safer spot. Good luck!
Hi, we are going to be in San Diego from 7th April for about 9 days. My teenage daughter is hoping to do some sunbathing and swimming in the sea. What are the chances of that given average temperatures mid April? What's it there like now? Any swimmers in the sea???

One more PS.....Del Mar is another very nice beach and town (love it there). Only about 15 min north of La Jolla
