Awesome trail! Spent an awesome morning hiking in this trail and made it all the way up to the overlook. Is not an exhausting hike, but you have to be careful with the rocks. The restrooms are clean.…Full review by Jptravelswithfreedom

One of my favorite hikes in all of Scottsdale, it is easy to get to with loads of parking. Be sure to prepare properly and check the heat for our furry friends who are sensitive to the rocky terrain.…Full review by Lisa F

Scottsdale's McDowell Sonoran Preserve is open from sunrise to sunset. Lost Dog Wash, Gateway, Tom's Thumb, Brown's Ranch, Sunrise, and Fraesfield Trailheads all have an access gate that opens and closes based on the changing day length throughout the year. From the Preserve's web site.

Yes you can, however, DO NOT forget to pack along plenty of water for your furry family member. You have to have a leach and remember it is the desert and dogs like to sniff around, rattle snakes are all over in the summer, you don't see them till you're on them. Have fun it is a GREAT trail!!!
