Quito is such a magnificent city and there is so much to experience! Spend the extra money and do it right. (Our guide was the son of our hostel owner.)

Like other mentioned, I just took a taxi. They are cheap, and those guys will literally drive ANYWHERE to meet you (including in the middle of nowhere off a mountain pass), and be …

Like other mentioned, I just took a taxi. They are cheap, and those guys will literally drive ANYWHERE to meet you (including in the middle of nowhere off a mountain pass), and be nice enough to wait for you to finish the tour. I even had lunch with one of my taxi drivers who waited around. Well worth it.
