More than 100 people were evacuated from a plane on the runway at a Houston airport in the southern United States on Sunday due to an engine issue, federal authorities and the airline said.

A United Airlines flight from Houston to New York was evacuated after an engine issue was reported before takeoff, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to United Airlines, the pilot of Flight 1382, an Airbus A319 on its way to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, stopped the takeoff around 8:35 a.m. after getting an engine warning. The aircraft remained on the runway as passengers were safely evacuated using the inflatable slides and stairs before being bused to the terminal.
