The National Weather Service forecasts predict snow, freezing rain, ice, and excessive rainfall that may cause flooding, power outages, and hazardous travel.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency in Virginia Monday, ahead of winter weather expected to move into the commonwealth Tuesday into Wednesday. Youngkin encouraged people in the state to prepare and listen to guidance coming from local and state officials.
