TORONTO — New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Anthony Volpe has made “a few too many” fielding errors this season after the shortstop made his 12th miscue of the season in a 4-1 loss at Toronto. He’s now tied for most in the American League.

Instead, the harshest spotlight landed on Oswald Peraza.
Giancarlo Stanton stayed hot homering in the fourth for a 1-0 Yankees lead Monday night, the Blue Jays countered in the fifth when Bo Bichette laced a two-out, two-run double off laboring lefty Carlos Rodon and then speedy outfielder Myles Straw hit a groundball a couple steps to third baseman’s Oswald Peraza ’s left.
