Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed Monday morning near Rifle for a vehicle fire, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A vehicle fire has broken out on Interstate 40 near North Little Rock on Monday. According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the fire, which is just west of Exit 157, was first reported at 2:51 p.m. Fire crews could be seen putting out the vehicle fire around 3 p.m.

The fire broke out in a car on the back of a flatbed tow truck shortly after 11:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near 7th Avenue. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reports that there were also two separate crashes in the same area before the car fire. In one of those collisions, DPS says a child suffered a head injury.

At around 9:26 a.m. firefighters were called to the area of South Frontage Road after a report of a vehicle fire, the fire department said. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire, called the Mile Marker 65 Fire because of its location about 8 miles south of Boise, started shortly before 1 p.m., according to WildCAD, a wildfire dispatch system. The fire grew to about 5,000 acres by 4 p.m.
