According to the "Today" show, the tree is being donated by the Albert family in West Stockbridge. Rockefeller Center head gardener Erik Pauze first spotted the tree in 2020, he said.
The Albert family's tree stands 74 feet tall, 43 feet wide, and weighs approximately 11 tons. These stats are pretty comparable to last year's tree, a Norway Spruce from Vestal, New York.
It's being donated by the Albert family in West Stockbridge. The tree was planted 67 years ago, but Michael Albert said there was nothing sad about seeing it go. "It's a gift to the world," he said.
