A tech company whose boss was filmed hugging a colleague at a Coldplay concert has said a purported statement from him expressing remorse is fake.

"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name,” said cofounder Pete DeJoy.

His comments come after a video of CEO of tech firm Astronomer, Andy Byron, appearing on the “Kiss Cam” at a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., with his arms allegedly wrapped around the company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot, went viral on social media.

Pete DeJoy stepped up as interim CEO of Astronomer when Byron and Cabot, who were part of the company’s leadership, were caught canoodling at a Caldplay concert last week.
