The Canadian Parliament was put on lockdown Saturday after a man barricaded himself inside — prompting authorities to urge the public to “hide.”

Ottawa Police are on scene of an ongoing police operation at Canada's Parliament Hill building after people in the area were told to "seek shelter in the nearest room" and "lock all doors and hide"

There is a lockdown in place on Parliament Hill as Ottawa police say they are dealing with a barricaded man. The service issued a warning on Saturday afternoon for anyone in East Block, which houses parliamentary offices, to seek shelter in the nearest room, close and lock all doors and hide.
