India’s airlines will have to take extra measures to ensure passenger comfort, adding to their costs, as flying time for westerly flights has increased after Pakistan closed its airspace for India-owned and operated airlines.

Air India issued an advisory and informed that flights to or from North America, UK, Europe, ME will take an alternative extended route as Pakistan closes airspace.

Indian airlines may suspend flights to a few destinations where it may be operationally or financially unviable to operate flights that circumvent the Pakistani airspace, according to industry experts.
