The Canadian wildfire smoke that covered northwest Wisconsin July 24 has moved south and is causing air quality problems in most of the state.

Heavy smoke from wildfires in Saskatchewan and Manitoba is moving south, impacting air quality. The MPCA anticipates that air quality will improve gradually starting Friday afternoon as southerly winds push the smoke north.

A smoke map from NOAA shows Colorado will be almost entirely covered with smoke on Thursday as wildfires burn thousands of acres on the Western Slope.
