At about 8.15am, the remains of Malaysia’s fifth prime minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, arrived at Masjid Negara, where final rites are being carried out ahead of his burial.
The mosque was built on a 5.2-hectare site. It is reported that Baharuddin drew inspiration for Masjid Negara from mosques in Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan.
