PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Two Northwest Florida high school football teams are headed to the Regional Finals. Pensacola Catholic and Choctaw will play next week after big wins on Friday night.

The final week of district play gave some area teams (Pensacola Catholic, Pace and Escambia) a guarantee that they'll be in the 2024 postseason.

Pensacola High football coach Wade McKinney was simply frustrated after the game. The Tigers fell, 28-16, to Bay in their District 1-3A opener on Friday at Jim Scoggins Stadium.

The Patriots slotted in at No. 15 in the FHSAA. Pensacola Catholic (23rd) and Escambia (86th) both are in the top 100 teams, as well. Here are the latest rankings, plus a playoff bubble watch.
