The New England Patriots have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Josh Dobbs to a two-year, $8 million deal. Dobbs will be Drake Maye’s backup, and that could mean a murky future for Joe Milton, who is now a possible trade target.

On Monday, the Patriots signed former San Francisco 49ers backup Joshua Dobbs to a two-year, $8 million contract. That move would seem to only increase the likelihood that Milton eventually gets traded.

The Jets will be Fields' third team entering his fifth season after being drafted 11th overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft. But the Bears traded Fields to the Steelers before they drafted Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.
