Six Flags Great America theme park in suburban Gurnee isn’t going anywhere — but another massive park from the Six Flags family will in fact close at the end of the summer. According to an announcement,

After more than a quarter century, Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor will close at the end of this season.

Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland, is closing this year after its owner determined it was "not a strategic fit with the company’s long-term growth plan."
