Participants initially viewed 48 images, half in color and half in black and white. The picture subjects fell into four different categories: landscapes, flowers, rock formations and man-made objects.

So future projects such as the next-generation EHT (ngEHT) and the Black Hole Explorer (BHEX) will be able to build on this method. And that means we will be able to see black holes live and in color.
