As expected, Ryan Leonard has signed a contract with the Washington Capitals following the end of BC's season. Leonard, who played 2 seasons at BC, was drafted 8th overall by the Capitals in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Leonard finished third in the NCAA in goals and fourth in points as a freshman last season, registering 31 goals and 60 points in 41 games.

Leonard 's contract will carry an average annual value of $950,000. The Capitals selected Leonard with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
