Marcus Rashford will wear his idol’s shirt number at Barcelona but it may surprise followers of the England international. Rashford is on the verge of joining Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United, with the forward due to be unveiled by the Spanish giants this evening.

Throughout his two-decade association with United, Rashford never wore 14. There were spells with 39 and 19 before he was made the club’s No. 10 in 2018. Matheus Cunha pointedly took over those digits before the shirt’s predecessor was even out of the door.
