Russia and Ukraine will hold a new round of peace talks in Istanbul on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

Russia and Ukraine appear close to agreeing to hold a new round of peace talks in Turkey this week, although the Kremlin said on Monday that the two sides held "diametrically opposed" positions on how to end the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address on Monday that there would be another round of talks between Russia and Ukraine on Wednesday.

The parade is a day after Trump's 50-day deadline for Putin to make peace in Ukraine or face much tougher economic sanctions. Trump set the deadline on July 14, warning Russia that it faced punitive secondary tariffs against those still trading with it if there is no peace.
