The clock is ticking on a race of President Donald Trump's own making: a sprint to negotiate dozens of trade deals before his 90-day pause on some tariffs expires — talks that negotiators of past trade deals say come with a range of strategic and logistical hurdles due to Trump's compressed timeline.

While Trump has expressed optimism about agreements with Europe and China, among others, so far it’s been just that: positive comments, but no signed deals.

President Donald Trump told reporters that he thought he could wrap up tariff talks “over the next three or four weeks.” Meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni earlier in the day, he said he was "in no rush" to finish trade deals.
