The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported Thursday that United bid $87 million up front and close to $7 million in add ons to Brentford for Mbeumo, and Sky Sports are among those sayin g the bid's been accepted and the Cameroon international is set for a medical.

Mbeumo grew up in a small town in France, his first football shirt was a United one with Ronaldo on the back and his dream was to become a footballer. To do so for United would have felt a long way off, but it's one he has now realised.
