Roki Sasaki, the highly sought-after Japanese pitcher signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers, got off to a shaky start on Tuesday when he faced prospect Kyle Teel.

In three scoreless innings, the Monster of the Reiwa Era allowed two hits, walked one, hit a batter and struck out five against the Cincinnati Reds. He appeared in relief of countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who allowed two hits in four innings.

Sasaki's splitter and his four-seam fastball figure to be the bread and butter of his arsenal with the Dodgers. He averaged 98 mph on the four-seamer, which he threw 25 times against the Reds, topping out at 99.3 mph.
