The NHL fined New Jersey Devils coach Sheldon Keefe $25,000 for unprofessional conduct toward officials that led to his ejection from his team’s game at Vegas on Sunday after star center Jack Hughes was injured.
Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils suffered a brutal fall after colliding with Vegas' Jack Eichel, possibly jeopardizing the Devils' playoff hopes. With Hughes clutching his right arm in pain, the severity of his injury is uncertain.
Hughes, 23, was injured when he slammed into the boards after getting tangled up with Golden Knights center Jack Eichel late in New Jersey’s loss at Vegas on Sunday night.
The New Jersey Devils will be without center Jack Hughes for the rest of the season.  On Wednesday, the team confirmed that the 23-year-old had undergone successful shoulder surgery and would be out for the remainder of 2024-25.
The Devils say Jack Hughes is expected to make a full recovery and be available for 2025 training camp after having season-ending shoulder surgery Wednesday.
