Ole Miss freshman football player Corey Adams was killed in a shooting in Tennessee, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday. Law enforcement officials found Adams with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle at an intersection in Cordova on the outskirts of Memphis late Saturday, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Corey Adams' family and those who knew him best at Edna Karr are shocked by the death of the 18-year-old. "He didn't deserve this."

According to Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Corey Adams, 18, was killed around 10:14 p.m. Saturday night at a residence on Fern Glade Cove in Cordova.

CORDOVA, Tenn. - An 18-year-old has died and four others were injured in a shooting in Cordova, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said. SCSO and his high school in New Orleans identified the victim as Corey Adams of New Orleans. The school’s official football page, Karr Cougar Football, mourned the loss.
