CINCINNATI — A fresh update surfaced on Monday regarding the Bengals' negotiations with star defender Trey Hendrickson. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Bengals made a new contract offer in the past week. It has not been enough to get Hendrickson signed to a new deal just yet.
Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown says a disagreement over guaranteed money is what is keeping the team from signing 2025 first round pick Shemar Stewart.
Cincinnati selected Stewart No. 17 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft but he's yet to sign a contract as training camp begins.
The Bengals are trying to set a precedent that they can use in all future rookie deals. Second-round pick Demetrius Knight Jr. signed his rookie contract Saturday and signed a deal that had the language the Bengals wanted. Stewart is now the last one standing.
