The Miami Dolphins have a lot of work to do in NFL free agency, and we’ll be keeping track of every single one of their moves.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Miami Herald’s Dolphins-flavored free agency blog. NFL teams can agree to contract terms with players from other teams beginning at noon Monday, but players cannot sign until 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Dolphins entered Monday with $28 million in cap space.

The Dolphins announced they. While outside free agent agreements can’t be signed until the start of the new league year at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Miami was free to ink Dickerson to return from last year’s team.

A few hours into NFL free agency, the one team still to move the needle on major moves was … the Miami Dolphins. A major reason, of course, is the Dolphins are strapped for cash under the NFL salary cap. But the lack of movement in the first wave of free agency is noteworthy given how active their AFC East rivals have been.
