The F-7 BGI jet, a variant of a Chinese fighter, crashed into the campus of the Milestone School and College, in the Uttara neighborhood of Dhaka. The pilot was among the dead, according to the military and a fire official, and 171 people, mostly students, have been injured.

Nearly all of the 31 killed when the plane crashed were children. Dozens more were being treated as the nation declared a day of mourning.

Speaking to media after the funeral of Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar, the pilot of the ill-fated F-7 fighter jet, Mahmood Khan condemned the turmoil around the accident site, Milestone School and College in Uttara.
