CNBC reported Thursday that the NFL is looking at taking a stake of around 10% in the Disney sports network. The media giant currently owns 80% of ESPN, while Hearst owns the remaining 20%. The outlet noted that discussions remain ongoing and that a final deal could result in a smaller stake.
On Wednesday, The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported that ESPN and the NFL are nearing a deal for ESPN to acquire NFL Media. This deal will enable ESPN to launch a new "direct-to-consumer product this fall," called “The Next Era,” at $29.99 per month.

The ESPN Original Series on the Chiefs has a release date: Aug. 14. Episodes of a six-part series entitled "The Kingdom" will air starting at 8 p.m. Central Time on Aug. 14 on ESPN+ and Disney+. The first two episodes will also be shown on ESPN that day.
According to a teaser released on Monday afternoon, a six-part series titled "The Kingdom" is set to air on ESPN this summer. The production will document the team's quest for a Super Bowl three-peat this past season—as well as "the legacy of the franchise, and the unforgettable characters who built its modern-day football dynasty."
