Superman gave Clark Kent back his heart, but did James Gunn give our staffers back their hope for his comic world?

The new DC Cinematic Universe all started with James Gunn bringing in fresh talent for his rebooted Superman movie. As actor David Corenswet steps into the red cape for Gunn’s Superman , fans still love and appriciate former Man of Steel,

"This started out as the worst day of my life, but I actually think it's the best day of my life," Gunn recalled thinking on the day he was fired.

He was an absolute gentleman about it. He said, ‘The only thing I ask is that I’m able to reveal it myself as opposed to it coming from you guys,’” the director added of Cavill's reaction to the news.

While the latest version of the Man of Steel might be ushering in a new and promising era for the DC Universe, James Gunn recently spoke out about the monumental mix-up that was made near the end of the previous one, which saw Henry Cavill briefly return as Superman, only to take off the cape for good.

James Gunn said that acclaimed comic stories by Grant Morrison, Tom King, and others will lay the groundwork for his new DC universe.
