Spring training has been underway for several days now and it has been relatively uneventful, which is what happens when you have a team packed with All-Stars and very few open roster spots. The two-time All-Star was forced to exit Tuesday’s spring training game against the Cincinnati Reds after being hit by a 79.7 mph sweeper on his left knee. Smith initially remained in the game; however, he was pulled for pinch runner Jake Vogel just two batters later.
