Attorneys in the burglary case of outgoing Minnesota state Sen. Nicole Mitchell have set a date for her sentencing after a jury convicted her on both felony counts.

A Minnesota state senator will resign from office from her seat after she was found guilty Friday of burglarizing her stepmother's home, her attorney said in a statement.

Sen. Nicole Mitchell, a Woodbury Democrat who was found guilty of first-degree burglary, will resign from the Minnesota Senate, her attorney said.
