The Phillies began their series against the Red Sox with a walk-off win on Monday, making MLB history that hasn't been done in over 50 years.
The pitcher, also a longtime coach and scout for the Oakland A's who made a lasting mark in independent baseball, died after a private cancer battle Saturday.
Robertson is joining the Phillies for the third time. He was in Philadelphia in 2019 and 2020 but pitched only seven times because of Tommy John surgery. He joined the team at the trade deadline in 2022 and helped the Phillies get over the hump and into the World Series.
