Scottie Scheffler used a Chipotle anecdote to reflect on fame, fulfillment, and his priorities beyond golf after his fourth major win.
Scheffler’s win at Royal Portrush was clinical, writes Farrell Evans, but even in victory Scheffler made it clear that trophies aren’t his true motivation.
Scheffler's father, Scott Scheffler, is from Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. He was a carpenter and stay-at-home dad throughout Scottie's youth, and he played a role in the star golfer's interest in the sport as a kid, including taking him to the driving range and with Diane, eventually getting Scottie access to Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas.
To highlight how he deals with fame, Scottie Scheffler told a story of the two Chipotle restaurants that he eats at when he’s home in Dallas.
Scheffler won by four shots Sunday at Royal Portrush, his fourth major victory and first in an Open Championship.
