The launch comes just a few months after PepsiCo completed its $1.95 billion acquisition of prebiotic soda brand Poppi. PepsiCo announced Monday it will introduce a new prebiotic cola that contains 3 grams of prebiotic fiber and aims to capitalize on the growing demand for functional sodas among health-conscious consumers.

Pepsi is releasing its own version of a healthier soda. The beverage business introduced Pepsi Prebiotic Cola in a release Monday. A 12-ounce can of the new drink includes 5 grams of cane sugar, 30 calories, 3 grams of prebiotic fiber and contains no artificial sweeteners.

Nixie soda is made with purified carbonated water, organic flavors, organic caramel color, organic stevia leaf extract, citric acid and himalayan pink salt. Some soda connoisseurs don’t love the taste of stevia, but feel Nixie is an exception, stating the stevia aftertaste is more subtle or nonexistent in their sodas.
