Apr 16, 2016 · Dave Friedman modded amps for famous guitar players. He now builds his own hand-wired amps, very successfully. Friedman amps are medium-to-high gain amps with really fat tones. He has built signature amps for Steve Stevens and Jerry Cantrell. The Marsha was Friedman's first amp. He had to rename it after some pressure from Marshall.

Dec 20, 2010 · The Friedman/Marsha covers a lot of ground, and it cleans up nicely on the guitar volume. I'd say yes it will do modern, but what is modern anyway? It will get as nasty as you want it.

Jul 4, 2010 · My advice to you dogger is to either ship a multimeter to the eternal (assuming he don't already have one) or seek schematics for the dave friedman hb mod (they exist, you just have to be smart about where you search).

Sep 22, 2012 · Both Amps deliver amazing "brown" tone and warmth. I tried to record the amps with the same EQ (however the Atomica has a little more low-end due to the "thump" dial). I recorded both amps on the high-gain setting (Atomica was plugged into "high" and the Marsha into "HBE") and used the effects loop on both amps.

I have modded a few of my amps to clone his Marsha and JEL amps, and that style suits me to the T. They're basically mass produced amps, so you're bound to see them on the used market quite often. You'd be hard pressed to find people that say they regret buying anything Friedman.
