Aug 19, 2024 · The central element of this logo looks like a reclining cross, which is a reference to the hospital’s religious prehistory, as it was built as a shrine to St. Jude Thaddeus and named after him. The emblem is based on a white ellipse with a thin black outline.

The official website for St. Jude claims that the original St. Jude logo was created from a photo of a little girl holding a flower. This logo was patented by St. Jude in the summer of 1974, registered in the summer of 1976, and according to a trademark website, was first used in late 1973.
